Volkl High Speed 35

source link Volkl has, for many years, made fabulous winter sports equipment and tennis racquets!  The Volkl Highspeed 35 is a prime example of the forward thinking even in the early 90’s.

click here The Highspeed 35 designation refers to the head size which is 35% larger than standard.  They did not define, however, what “standard” is.  I suspect they were thinking of the old wooden racquets at 68 square inches.  If that is the case they are off by a few square inches.

https://everitte.org/8tzedcfiv The racquet is beautifully proportioned but that is where the beauty stops!  The “Galcier Green” finish does not fit well with tennis racquets.  I like it on my BMW RT1100RT but not on a tennis racquet.  But don’t let the color fool you!  This is a stellar racquet as you will see in the data that follows.

https://www.thephysicaltherapyadvisor.com/2024/09/18/xqm1t5ir The folks in the racquet division of Volkl borrowed some P-Tex material from their ski manufacturing and used that around the head as protection instead of a molded bumper gaurd.  P-Tex is the bottom material of snow skis.  This saved a little weight.
